Tapping Reinvents Herself in Santuary
Sep 08, 2008 ~ Briefing Room
Amanda Tapping (SG-1's Samantha Carter) recently sat down with The Province to chat about her upcoming TV series 'Sanctuary' scheduled to start on October 3rd.
Tapping plays "Dr. Helen Magnus, a 157-year-old immortal who cares for "abnormals" -- genetically mutated creatures trying to get by in an unspecified noir city. "
Tapping says that she "felt the need leaving Stargate to completely reinvent myself as an actor...I've learned to walk in stilettos which, trust me after 10 years in combat boots -- big, big change, as silly as that sounds. Helen is 157 years old, she's outlived all of her friends, all of her lovers. There's an element of melancholy."
You can check out Sanctuary on October 3rd on TMN in Canada, or the Sci-Fi channel in the states.
